ORIGIN
La Fuga Le Due Sorelle Brunello Riserva di Montalcino is made with grapes from the vineyards of La Fuga estate of our property, located in the Montalcino area at an altitude of approximately 400 meters a.s.l.
GRAPES
Grapes: 100% Sangiovese.
Vineyard density: 4500-5000 plants per hectare.
Yield per hectare: an average of 6-6.5 tons of grapes.
Yield of grapes into wine: 65%.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION
The harvest takes place during the month of October when the grapes are fully ripened.
Vinification takes place in the La Fuga Estate Cellar.
Alcoholic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C with maceration on the lees lasting approximately 20 days.
Malolactic fermentation in wood.
Ageing lasts 5 years in Slavonian oak casks holding 30-40 hectoliters.
Bottle ageing: 1 year.
SENSORY EVALUATION
Il Brunello Riserva La Fuga has a deep purple red colour with garnet hues.
The bouquet is sweet and complex with traces of cedar, balsamic wood, spices, tobacco, liquorice and strawberry and black currant compote.
Flavour: Full-bodied wine with a superb harmony of elements and soft tannins throughout.
Serving temperature: 18-20 °C.
Complements: roasted meats, game and aged cheeses.
