The pride of the House is the DOC Costa d'Amalfi Ravello Bianco Vigna Grotta Piana whose vineyard is located in Ravello on the slopes of Mount Brusara 500 meters above sea level. where the harvest is done manually and the yield per hectare is about 60 quintals with a production of 2 kg per vine.
The last ones born in the Sammarco house are the Terre Saracene: in white the Pepella grape is used which is present only in small areas in the territory of the Amalfi coast; is a vine completely ignored by the texts of oenology and takes its name from the type of bunch, which presents next to berries of normal size, others as tiny as pepper, even when ripe.
For the red there is the pairing of the Piè di Rosso with the Sciascinoso both very ancient vines, the harvest is late as it happens in the first week of November. The hand-harvested grapes from the sunny and well-cultivated vineyards on the hills of the Amalfi Coast where the aromas of citrus and Mediterranean flora mix with sea salt give the wine the aromas and flavors of these lands.
Today the wineries of Ettore Sammarco make use of the most advanced technology in production: including renewed plants for vinification, identified in particular by the soft pressing of the grapes, the fermentation at controlled temperatures and the subsequent bottling of cold wine in a sterile line .
A technology aimed at producing in terms of authenticity and quality.
The company is led by the Sammarco family, Ettore is responsible with his son Bartolo of all stages of production, Maria Rosaria and Antonella, the other two daughters are employed in administration and sales.
